Board of Trustees March Update

Lent

Lent is a season of reflection, renewal, and preparation observed by many Catholic school communities around the world. It invites individuals to pause, refocus, and engage in practices that foster compassion, gratitude, and service. As we move through this season, we recognize the values of reflection and intentionality that guide our work together in Regina Catholic Schools.

School Name

God called each of us by name. However, He left the naming of our schools to us, so we are asking for your input. Our next new school, a joint-use facility in the west part of the Harbour Landing community, is ready for a name. We invite you to submit your school name suggestions by Thursday, April 2, 2026. We will announce the chosen name during Catholic Education Week, May 10-17, 2026. Thank you in advance.

Budget

The provincial budget is released this month, and its effect on the operations of Regina Catholic Schools is significant. Considerable time is spent advocating to the Government of Saskatchewan for support in providing the best possible education to our students. We look forward to learning of the results of our advocacy later in March.

Easter Break

Our Lenten season ends on Holy Thursday, which falls on April 2 this year. The Easter break from school starts on Good Friday, April 3. We pray for a safe and joyful time to celebrate with your family, and look forward to welcoming students back on Monday, April 13.
